CLIMATIC CONDITION
:
The Misa Cantt. Has a humid,
subtropical climate with
extremely heavy rainfall. It
is subject to floods and
earthquakes. Much of the
area is covered with dense
tropical forests of bamboo
and, at higher elevations,
evergreens. The Kaziranga
National Park (a UNESCO
World Heritage Site since
1985) is 35 km from Misa
Cantt. It is famous for
Rhino & Elephants. In July
2003 extensive floods in the
northernmost areas of the
state left large areas of
the park's forestland
submerged. Tea is cultivated
in the near by regions.
